Kotoko Optimistic of League Success Despite Hearts Draw

Godwin Ablordey, Kumasi Asante Kotoko interim assistant head coach has rebuffed claims the league title is gone after dropping another  points at home.

The record Ghana Premier League Champions appear to be losing grounds on regaining the league title as they have recorded no win in their last three premier League games.

And after failing to record another win over arch rivals, Hearts at home in the return fixture, football fans have questioned the teams ability to crawl back as they trail the leaders [Hearts] by five points with nine matches to spare.

But the former midfielder, Ablordey, has cooled off those talks claiming they [Kotoko] can still win the league trophy.

“It is not over. We really wanted to win this game because that could have made us close the game. We are not down. We can still win it (Ghana Premier League),” he told the media during the post match interview.

He added, “nine matches is  a lot of games and we can pick points in those matches. We just need to make sure we win as many matches. So there is still a big chance.”

Kotoko will aim at getting back on winning ways against New Edubiase, a side they lost at home to during the first round of the league.
