GPL Match Report: Liberty Thump Hasaacas in Dansoman

Liberty Professionals bounced back from a seven game winless streak to record an impressive 4-0 win over Sekondi Hasaacas in their Ghana Premier League Match Week 22 encounter at the Carle Reindorf Park on Wednesday afternoon.

Striker Felix Addo, who started the game in the absence of Bernard Arthur, opened the scoring just after the half hour after he was set up by strike partner Latif Blessing.

Addo made no mistake, striking the ball from just outside the penalty box to slot the ball beyond Michael Abu in the Hasaacas goal.

That proved to be the only goal of the half and both sides went into the dressing room with a win within their grasp.

The second half however started in a more exciting manner than the first with the home side doubling their lead just three minutes after the restart.

Latif Blessing picked up a lose ball from the edge of the penalty area and run past two Hasmal defenders to slot home his 11th goal of the season.

The highly rated attacker added his second and Liberty’s third five minutes later after a fine inter play with midfielder Tamimu Muntari.

Felix Addo and Kennedy Ashia both had chances to increase Liberty’s lead but failed to take them.

Addo blasted a glorious opportunity over the bar and Ashia’s goal bound shot was deflected for a corner.

But despite picking up a knock in the second half, it was Blessing who completed his hatrick of the afternoon on 73 minutes with a close range finish.

The youngster was substituted just 6 minutes later and was replaced by former Hasaacas man Benjamin Eshun.

That substitution did not make any impact on the game with the Dansoman based side comfortably finishing the cross line.
