Interim Coach of AshantiGold Sporting Club,Yakubu Mambo insists his side deserved to bag all three points against Accra Hearts of Oak in their Match-Day 22 encounter of the Ghana Premier League (GPL).
The game played at the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra, ended 1-1 as the Phobians extended their lead at the top of the standing to 39 points, four more than second placed Wa All Stars who lost 0-2 at Tema to Inter Allies.
AshantiGold SC were very dominant with their ‘frazzle dazzling’ style of play and squandered numerous chances that came their way.
In a post match interview, Coach Mambo said: “I watched the Kotoko and Hearts game in Kumasi, I noticed their tactical play and I told my boys the kind of game they should expect from Hearts, we capitalized on this tactical knowledge but it was very unfortunate we could get all three points, because we deserved to win the match.”
“Nonetheless, I am satisfied with the result of the encounter, especially playing away from home and, in our next match we shall make sure we capitalize on home advantage and take all three points.
The defending Champions will face relegation threatened New Edubiase United in their next GPL game scheduled to be played on Sunday, August 7, 2016.
