Bashiru Hayford Remains Ashgold Coach - Mambo

Obuasi Ashantigold SC caretaker coach, Yakubu Mambo, has said, embattled trainer, Bashiru Hayford, remains the head coach.

The former Kumasi Asante Kotoko coach has had a torrid time repeating the feat that got him and the Obuasi club, the league title during the 2015-16 season.

Media reports have claimed coach Bash has gone AWOL after his request for leave was turned down, but Mambo, who has been in charge of the team for their last four games, said the tough coach is on study duties.

Speaking after the side’s draw against league leaders, Hearts, yesterday, Mambo said, “actually, I’ve not taken over from Bashiru Hayford [my senior colleague].

“He’s on further studies at the University of Cape Coast, but I’m always in contact with him as the team prepares for league matches.”

He adds, “I’m taking temporary care of the team in his absence until he returns to take over once again.”
