GPL: "Asamoah"s Injury A Blow For Aduana Stars"

Deputy Public Relations Officer of Ghanaian top flight side, Aduana Stars, Mr. Collins Gyamfi has described Nathaniel Asamoah’s injury as a “blow” to the Dormaa based club.

The 26-year old former Medeama SC goal poacher limped off the pitch after picking up a knock during his side’s 1-0 victory over Liberty Professionals last Saturday.

Although Aduana Stars will not be engaged in the Ghana Premier League Week 22 action due to Medeama’s participation in the CAF Confederations Cup, the team has expressed concerned about the fitness of the striker.

Speaking on an Accra based radio station, Class FM, the deputy PRO of the club, Mr. Gyamfi minced no words in outlining the forward’s importance.

“Nathaniel’s injury is a big blow to us as a team”, he said, adding that, “He is helpful on and off the pitch, which is the reason his injury has hit us this big. We are just hoping he will return in the next few days and be fit for our game against Hasaacas”.

Asamoah moved to Aduana Stars as a free agent in the second half of the season following a short stint with Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca.

But despite his failure to live up to the high expectations, Mr. Gyamfi is confident he will eventually come good.

“He has not had the best of periods yet, but whoever knows Nathaniel Asamoah will know it’s only a matter of time before he gets into his elements and starts banging in the goals”, he noted.

Aduana are on third position on the League log behind Hearts of Oak and Wa All Stars and with nine matches still to play, the Ogya lads have high hopes of harnessing a second title.
