CAF CC: Medeama Poised For First Win

Ghana’s sole representative in African club competition, Medeama Sporting Club, is hopeful of recording its first win against Young Africans of Tanzania later today at the Essipong Sports Stadium in the CAF Confederation Cup tournament.

The Mauves-And-Yellows got a valuable one-all draw against the Tanzanian side in the first leg and will be boosted by domestic form to get the valuable three points.

And this, Patrick Akoto, a member of the team’s Communications Directorate, in an interview with Sportscrusader.com, said the team is ready to serve the nation with a victory and boost their chances of reaching the semi-final phase for the first time.

“We’re hopeful of our chances [against Young Africans]. We will have to grind a result today as we aim to get our first win of the campaign. It’s a daunting task but we have to scale the hurdle.”

He added; “the team is financially sound, in terms of bonuses being cleared and, training has been great as well as the mood in camp unmatched.”
