GPL Match Report: Allies Tames All Stars At Tema Park

Tema-based Inter Allies, eased their relegation woes with a ruthless display against title-chasing WA All Stars at the Tema Park.

The “Eleven-is-to-One ” posted a 2-0 win over the Wa-based side to maintain their unbeaten home record against the visitors.

Two sumptuous strikes from Enoch Adu and Gorkel Ahotor tamed the high-flying Northern Blues at the Tema Park.

Inter Allies avenged their first leg defeat at the Wa park by same scoreline with former All Stars manager, Jimmy Cobblah, in charge of the “Eleven-is-to-One”.

Allies feasted on the depleted visitors to lessen their relegation fears.

Coach Enos Kwame Adepa for WA All Stars, dropped Richard Ofori, Richard Arthur, Atta Kofi and captain Hafiz Adams to the bench with one eye on the Bechem clash next weekend.

A mix-up inside the box set up the on-rushing Enoch Adu, who dispatched a low skidder past Musah, in post for Wa All Stars, just 18 minutes into the game.

The toothless visitors upped their attacking with the introduction of Arthur, but the former Windy Professionals forward remained isolated throughout the game.

Free-kick expert, Gorkel Ahotor, unleashed a pearling dead ball into the back of the net on the hour mark to confirm the territorial dominance of the host.

A lively Isaac Osae missed another chance to make it 3-0 with only the goal keeper at his mercy.

Wa All Stars however remains within touching distance of the summit after Hearts Of Oak’s drawn game at home to Ashgold SC.
