Hearts 1-0 Chelsea: Hearts Keep Top Spot

Hearts of Oak kept grip of top spot and a morale booster ahead of facing Kotoko on Sunday with a hard-fought 1-0 home win over Berekum Chelsea at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The visitors, Chelsea got off to a good start as early as the 5th minute but a strong defensive work from Hearts likewise a Wonderful double save from goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye kept the score barren.

Entertaining winger, Patrick Razak nearly opened the scoring earlier on but failed to keep a looping shot down.

Chances were few as neither side created enough goal scoring opportunities to take the lead in the first half.

Goalkeeper, John Moosie was becoming an obstacle for the Phobians, saving a goal bound free kick as Sergio Traguil’s team pilled up the pressure.

But couldn’t help stop the ball finding the back of the net in the 78th minute as Kwame Kizito sent the stadium wild with the only goal of the game.

With fierce rivals, Kotoko losing by a whooping 4-goals to one at the hands of bottom placed Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs, the Rainbow knew an equaliser will be a bad result and held on to record their second win in a row.
