Turkish champions Besiktas have confirmed that Gokhan Tore has completed his loan move to West Ham United.
Tore has been on West Ham’s radar for a couple of months now after Slaven Bilic admitted towards the end of the Premier League season that he’d be interested in bringing him to England.
The 24-year-old winger was signed by Bilic for Besiktas, originally on loan, and is now set to reunite with the Croatian boss in East London.
We have loaned Gokhan Tore to West Ham, they made an offer and it appealed to us,” Besiktas president Fikret Orman told reporters, as reported by the Evening Standard.
“We have a lot of competition for a place on the right wing with Andreas Beck, Gokhan Gonul, Kerim Frei, Ricardo Quaresma, Aras Ozbiliz and Olcay Sahan.”
Tore was taken to Euro 2016 with Turkey but did not play a single minute during their group-stage elimination, so he should be fresh enough heading into pre-season with the Hammers.
In the Turkish Super Lig last season, the winger made 24 appearances and scored four goals, while also creating 32 chances.
