Ghana has moved up one place in latest FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking released on Thursday for the month of July with the Black Stars still rated third in Africa.
The Black Stars are ranked as the 36th best national football team in the world in the monthly pool released by the games controlling body worldwide.
Algeria maintained their 32nd position from the last release and remains the continent’s best ranked team followed by the Ivory Coast who moved up a place to 35th in the world.
Argentina are still the top ranked team in the world ahead of Belgium, Colombia, Germany and Chile in that order.
The month’s biggest climbers are New Zealand, who moved up 54 places to 93rd after winning the Oceanic Football Confederation Nations Cup and qualifying to the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in the process.
Portugal, after winning the EURO 2016 tournament, have leapfrogged Spain and Brazil into sixth position and will also play at the 2017 FIFA Confederation Cup in Russia.
Wales have jumped 15 above England to 11th after their run to the semi-finals of the EURO 2016 event with managerless England dropping two spots.
The next FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking will be published on 11 August 2016.
