GPL Match Report : Brilliant Wa All Stars Breeze Past City

Wa All Stars FC ended  their winless home run with a convincing win over Techiman City at the Wa Park.

The Northern Blues spanked the Citizens by 2-0 to maintain their second place on the log.

Isaac Baah’s own goal on  the stroke of half time was followed by a beautifully driven goal from Paul Asare to maintain the unbeaten home form for the host.

An avalanche of chances in the first half left the supporters wondering when the ball will cross that magical line with the attackers toying with the fans’ pulse.

A solo run from the middle of the pitch by the quick-footed Mathew Kelvin Andoh, however resulted in the opening  goal on the stroke of half time.

The former Sammin FC wide man danced past four defenders which was unfortunately  whipped home by Isaac  Baah for the visitors.

Returning Paul  Asare then made sure of the points midway through the second half of the game with his first goal in 540 days.

The former Berlin  FC talismanic forward, dummied the entire back line with his left foot before unleashing a better strike from the edge of the box on the 70th minute mark.

The host maintained the one way traffic in search of the third goal only to be denied by desperate defending from the Citizens.

Wa All Stars next play Medeama SC at the weekend in pursuit of the top spot.
