Victor Valdes has signed a two-year contract with Middlesbrough, according to the club’s official website.
The newly-promoted side booked their place back in England’s top tier by finishing second in the Championship last term.
The 34-year-old has an honours list to back up that statement.
Valdes has six La Liga titles to his name, as well as three Champions League triumphs, from his time with Barcelona.
A 20-time Spain international, Valdes also has winners medals from the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012.
However, for all his past success, he was never given a sustained run in the team at Manchester United.
And, after making just two senior appearances in 18 months, Valdes has finally left the Red Devils.
He is Boro’s fifth summer signing, after Viktor Fischer, Bernardo Espinosa, Marten de Roon and Jordan McGhee.
