Yobo Finally Bows Out With Testimonial Match

Former Nigeria captain Joseph Yobo quit an illustrious playing career in Port Harcourt with a testimonial played in his honour on Friday.

Team Nigeria beat Team World 5-4 in an entertaining hour-long match played in front of over 10,000 fans.

Emmanuel Emenike snatched a hat-trick for Team Nigeria, who lined up Vincent Enyeama, Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha, Nwankwo Kanu, Ahmed Musa and Efe Ambrose.

Former Manchester United manager David Moyes, who made Joseph Yobo his first signing at Everton, was in charge of Team World, who paraded the likes of Samuel Eto’o and Ghana stars Stephen Appiah and Sulley Muntari.

Thirty five-year-old former Everton and Fenerbache defender Yobo featured at three World Cups and six Africa Cup of Nations, leading Nigeria to win a third Nations Cup three years ago in South Africa.

He won 100 caps for Nigeria.
