GPL Matchday 15 Preview: Hearts Visit Dawu, Kotoko And Aduana Stars At Home

The last round of games in the Ghana Premier League (GPL) this season, will be cleared at all league centers this weekend,, and, it promises to be very exciting with the competition becoming keener by each game.

Accra Hearts of Oak will be on the road to Dawu to play Dreams FC, with Asante Kotoko at home to Techiman City as Aduana Stars plays Bechem United at home.

All the matches will be played on Sunday unless otherwise stated.

Dawu: Dreams FC v Accra Hearts of Oak

Accra Hearts of Oak will trek to the Eastern region to face the might of debutants Dreams FC at the Dawu Park in a game that will surely attract numbers to the ‘Theatre of Dreams’.

Hearts of Oak will be seeking to protect their unbeaten away record this season, and Coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi and his charges will be highly charged up for this game. They will want to end the first round of the campaign on a high, and, will therefore be up for it on the day.

Dreams FC, who have lost only one of their home games, will be expected to be charged up for this encounter as they host Ghana’s premier club.

Coach Charles K. Akunnor is under huge pressure to deliver for the league debutants, and, will want to respond in positive measure by guiding his team to a win.

It will not come easy tough as Hearts are on a mission, and, will make things extremely difficult for the Kweiman based club.

Kumasi: Asante Kotoko v Techiman City

Kumasi Asante Kotoko will be home to Techiman City in another game to look up to this weekend. The Porcupines will be eager to get back to winning ways after losing their midweek encounter to All Stars at Wa.

Techiman City has been very impressive on this, their debut season in the Ghanaian top-flight, and, will look to make things difficult for Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium.

It should be a good game to savour for fans in the Garden City as the first round of the GPL ends this weekend.

Dormaa: Aduana Stars v Bechem United

Aduana Stars will return to the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park to host Bechem United in the latest installment of the Brong Ahafo regional derbies.

They lost at Cape Coast to Dwarfs in midweek, their first in seven games, and, will therefore seek to get back to winning ways as they host a Bechem United side that has failed to win any of their away games this season.

Berekum: Berekum Chelsea v Wa All Stars

Berekum Chelsea will host Wa All Stars at the Golden City Park, Berekum, and, will be favourites to win this encounter considering their formidable form at home.

They have lost just once in four years at Berekum, and, will hope to take advantage of the conditions as they welcome the northern Blues to the Brong Ahafo region.

All Stars will have something to say about that tough as they go into this game on the back of a hard fought 1-0 victory over Asante Kotoko in midweek.

Dansoman: Liberty Professionals v Ebusua Dwarfs

Liberty Professionals will be home to Ebusua Dwarfs at the Carl Reindorf Park at Dansoman as they seek to continue with their impressive run this season going.

The ‘Scientific Soccer’ lads are one of the most formidable sides at home, and, will therefore be huge favourites to win this encounter as they look to push up the table.

They were very impressive in beating Hearts of Oak 1-0 at the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra on Thursday, and, will be highly motivated as they host Dwarfs.

Ebusua Dwarfs cane from behind to win their last game at home against Aduana Stars, and, will be buoyed by that result as they go into this game.

Obuasi: AshantiGold v WAFA (Saturday)

Defending champions AshantiGold SC will be home to the West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) at the Len Clay Stadium at Obuasi as they seek their third win of the season.

The Miners drew impressively at Techiman against Techiman City, and, as they return to home soil, they will be eager to return to winning ways.

WAFA has failed to win any of their away games this season, and it will be interesting to see where they will draw inspiration from going into this encounter.

Sekondi: Sekondi Hasaacas v Inter Allies

Sekondi Hasaacas will return to the Sekondi Stadium at Essipong to play International Allies in a game they will look to win to enhance their position on the league log.

Hasaacas in midweek, recorded their first away point of the season in drawing 1-1 with Bechem United at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park, and, will be in high spirits going into this game.

Inter Allies beat Berekum Chelsea at home in Tema, 3-1, and, will hope this sparks a revival in their quest to avoid relegation at the end of the campaign.

Tarkwa: Medeama SC v New Edubiase United

Inform Medeama SC will be home to New Edubiase United at the Tarkwa and Aboso Park, and, will seek to make the most of their home advantage.

They have 17 points on the table with two games in hand, and, will be looking to record their sixth win of the season.

New Edubiase United have only won three games all season, and, it will be interesting to see whether they travel to this game after earlier writing to the Ghana Football Association that they are pulling out of the league.

Should they make it, they will have a battle on their hands if they are to record a fourth win of the campaign at the home of the CAF Confederation Cup campaigners.
