Abdul Bashiru Targets Strong Second Round With Dreams FC

Dreams FC defender and captain, Abdul Bashiru is targeting a strong second round with the top-flight debutants in the Ghana Premier League (GPL).

At the end of the first round stage of this seasons competition, Dreams FC sit in sixth position with 23 points from their 15 games played.

The Kweiman based side drew 1-1 with Accra Hearts of Oak at the Dawu Park last Sunday, with Bashiru enjoying one of his better games as they hosted Ghana’s Premier club.

And, Bashiru believes they can improve on their performance when the second half of the GPL commences on the 25 and 26 June.

They will take on the Phobians again in a reverse fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium, and, Bashiru says they will be ready for that encounter when it comes.

“We are going to do extra work at our training, and, I am sure we will correct the mistakes we committed during the first round of the competition,” he told Sportscrusader.com.

Bashiru, who is also a member of the local national team, expects to see his side finish high up on the table when the competition ends.

“I am not saying we are going to win it, but, I can tell you that we will fight for every three points when the second half of the season begins,” the former Accra Hearts of Oak player said.

Of the 15 games that Dreams FC played during the first round, they won six, drew five and lost four. They scored 15 goals and conceded 18, and this is a record the captain said they are keen on improving on in the next round.
