Accra Hearts of Oak Team Manager, Nii Sabahn Quaye has called on his players and fans of the club to remain calm as the team goes into the last game of the first round of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) competition on Sunday.
Hearts will make a relatively short journey to Dawu in the Eastern Region to engage Dreams FC at the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ Park on Sunday afternoon, looking to protect their unbeaten away record this season.
.Hearts of Oak lost 0-1 to Liberty Professionals in their Matchday 14 encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday and thus remain joint top of the Premiership table with Wa All Stars.
And Nii Sabahn Quaye believes much will depend on the players to remain calm as should fans as the team goes into this game against the league debutants as they seek to top the standing after Sunday’s games.
Despite the defeat to Liberty Professionals, Nii Sabahn Quaye remains confident that his players will rise up to the challenge and keep their emotions in check against fierce foes, Dreams FC on Sunday.
He said cool heads will go a long way in determining the outcome of this game with Dreams FC at Dawu.
“The key factor is to keep our emotions in check especially so after we lost to Liberty Professionals. We were unlucky on the day and the defeat came as a shock to us but like in football we should not allow this to demoralize us because there are more games ahead” he said.
“If you let your emotions run away with you it can really damage you and your game. It is important to focus on the football and on our next game,” he added.
On Sunday’s opponents, he said; “I am not sure if they are stronger or not but what we know is that they are a very good team and they are very well organised which means we must work very well, remain composed and not look back and cry over our defeat to Liberty”.
“We know the final game of the first round is going to be a very difficult game but we will be well prepared for it”.
“It’s great to be amongst the top teams in this competition but I think sustaining our position is much more important. Hopefully we can take the opportunity and win the weekend game because we are hungry for success”.
