Chelsea to Trade Costa In Acquisition of Star Striker

According to a report by Spanish newspaper AS, Chelsea are getting closer to their plans of signing star striker Gonzalo Higuain during this summer transfer market.

The Argentina international doesn’t look like he’s ready to continue with Napoli beyond this summer. He has a contract with the Serie A outfit until 2018, but his brother has made it clear that the 28-year-old will not sign a new deal to extend his contract.

That means the Partenopei are pondering a sale as they don’t want to let him walk for free and because his value is at an all-time high after scoring a record 36 league goals last season. Atletico Madrid were linked with Higuain but backed off after Napoli slapped a £79 million price tag on their star striker.

Therefore, Chelsea would be willing to part with Diego Costa, as long as they can seal a deal to replace him with Higuain. Chelsea could demand as much as £40 million for the Spanish striker, with Atletico Madrid very interested in getting their former player back to La Liga.
