Hearts of Oak is In Good Hands - Board Member

Thomas Kwesi Esso, board member of Hearts of Oak, has praised the appointment of Portuguese tactician, Sergio Traguil as caretaker coach.

Sergio, nicknamed, the ‘Porto-Alegre Mourinho’, replaced fan favourite, Kenichi Yatsuashi, as coach after the Japanese-American’s request of a 25-day leave to enable him attend a coaching course was turned down subsequently leading to his dismissal.

Hearts’ immediate naming of Traguil as coach after initially joining as youth team trainer, raised fans’ eyebrows especially after Keni’s “mutual agreement” to part ways with the club had been announced. But Esso believes taking into consideration, the three games played thus far under the new coach, one can see light at the end of the tunnel.

Speaking after the 2016 President’s Cup defeat to arch rivals, Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Republic day, Esso said; “if we think about the fact that he (Sergio Traguil) is a new coach who is trying to build a new team altogether and make Hearts a possessive team, I dare say the

progress of the team is so encouraging, we can only hope for the better.”
