PLB Commends Disciplinary Committee

The Premier League Board (PLB), has commended the legal wing of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), the Disciplinary Committee (DC) for their swift handling of legal matters relating to football, especially this season.

Ghana football, specifically the premier league, has always suffered from the slow grinding of the wheels of justice when cases are presented before the DC, causing an adverse effect on the running of the league.

Prior to the commencement of the 2015/16 season, newly promoted side, Techiman City, were alleged to have played a fixed game on their road to securing promotion as well as fellow debutants, Dreams FC, who were accused of fielding an ineligible player.

These two cases dragged for months thereby delaying the start of the season.

Tamimu Issah, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the PLB, has, in an interview with Sportscrusader.com, mentioned the association’s satisfaction with the way and manner cases put before the DC have been dealt with.

“We are satisfied with the swift handling of the disciplinary matters by the Disciplinary Committee (DC), once they operate within the remits of the law and the statutes of the GFA, no one can question the dealings of the body (DC),” he said to Sportscrusader.com.

“Another reason to be excited is, this season, judicial cases have  been fast-tracked as we don’t have pile-up of cases as it has been one of the many reasons that has upset the smooth running of the league as we witnessed to the start of the league,” he added.
