Stoke City are on the cusp of sealing a move for highly-rated Egypt international Ramadan Sobhi in a deal worth £3.5 million, according to reports.
The talented 19-year-old has been making headlines for all the right reasons in his home country, with the Cairo-born attacking midfielder on the radars of a number of sides.
However, it is Stoke who have been linked with Sobhi more than most and it appears Mark Hughes’ side are now on the verge of wrapping up a move for him.
The Mirror reports that Stoke are understood to have agreed a £3.5m fee for the Al-Ahly star, who can play in a variety of positions across the frontline.
Sobhi, who recently scored his first international goal in a 1-0 win over Nigeria, has been facing a battle to move on with Al-Ahly eager to keep their most prized asset.
However, the forward has remained keen to move to the Premier League and it appears Stoke have won the race to acquire his signature.
Sobhi, who came through the youth ranks at Egypt’s most successful club – Al-Ahly – made his debut for the club during the 2013/14 Premier League season in a match against Ghazl El Mahalla.
Sobhi then became the second-youngest player ever to represent Egypt’s national team – behind Mido – after making his debut at the age of 17 years, 11 months and 18 days back in 2015.
