Manchester United vs Bournemouth has been abandoned after a ‘suspect package’ was found in the north east corner of Old Trafford.
Supporters in the Stretford End and the Sir Alex Ferguson stand were told to leave by stewards as mick-off at Old Trafford initially had been delayed by at least 45 minutes as a result.
The stadium announcer via the public announcement system informed supporters there is an ‘Operation Code Red’ and two stands at Old Trafford had to be emptied.
In addition the announcer added, ‘Attention please, this is a message to supporters in the South and East Stands: please remain in your seats.’
Manchester City who are battling United form the 4th spot slot and a champions league qualification will have their game against Swansea go ahead as planned; as will the rest of the games.
