Zamalek Parts Way With Alex Mcleish

Egypt Premier league side Zamalek have parted ways with Alex Mcleish after just 10 matches in charge.

The British trainer joined Zamalek from Belgian side Gent but has mutually terminated his contract with the North Africans less than three months into the deal.

The former Aston Villa and Birmingham City trainer failed to overhaul a three point deficit on the domestic championship at the time of taking over which has since widened to 11.

The celebrated trainer becomes the third managerial casualty at the dug out of the EPL side this season after Ahmed Mido and Marcos Pacquita at the start of the campaign.

Mcleash managed six wins and two defeats in his 10 official matches as a Zamalek boss including a place in the money zone of the CAF Champions League.

The Brit’s defensive record of five goals allowed in his 10 matches looks impressive but his 60, 000 USD monthly salary deserves more than a second fiddle role to feared nemesis Al Ahly.
