Wa Rockets midfielder, Iddrisu Nafiu has cautioned his teammates to eschew complacency ahead of their MTN FA Cup clash with Asokwa Deportivo on Friday.
The talented teen midfield general reminded his colleagues about the danger posed by their visitors headlined by their elimination of AshGold from the competition.
The vice captain for the Wa based side remains confident however that his side will sail through to the last eight stage but ruled out any form of complacency despite their recent form in the GN Bank Division One League.
Wa Rockets needed the lottery of shootouts to book their place in the last 16 after a 1-1 thriller in the regional derby with Power Sporting Club.
Iddrisu Nafiu, who has been tipped to leave the second tier league by the end of the campaign, said, “even though we are praying at home it doesn’t give us any advantage in the FA Cup when Deportivo comes calling. They have shown their worth by eliminating AshGold but I am sure we will beat them in Wa on Friday.
Our team is very much unpredictable now and that’s the haul mark of a great team. Anybody can come in from any part of the pitch and score important goals. All we need is to avoid complacency and come attacking Deportivo on Friday.
