Wa All Stars defender Ismail Ganiu has fired a verbal warning to Sogakope based WAFA SC ahead of their Ghana Premier League (GPL) clash at the Wa Park on Wednesday.
The confident speaking defender commended fans at the Wa Park for their immense role in their 6-0 thumping of Mighty Royals in the MTN FA Cup as they prepare to host John Killa and his Academy Boys at Wa.
The home based Black Stars centre back remains confident his side will soon find their swashbuckling form back that saw them surge to the top of the GPL log in the opening matches of the season.
Wa All Stars made their best ever start to a top flight campaign with 20 points from their opening 10 matches and has yet to concede a goal at home in five games.
Speaking to sportscrusader.com ahead of their midweek clash with WAFA, Ganiu said, “We needed performances like the one we played against Wamanafo Mighty Royals. It has brought back that missing link and, we have found our missing gear ahead of the WAFA clash on Wednesday. We could not have prepared any better for the return of the league after recent run of poor results”.
The ambidextrous defender commended the home fans for their immense role in cheering the club on even when results are not forthcoming.
“The supporters deserve more than what we are even giving them. They have been with us in thin and thick and to have enjoyed performances like a 6-0 win Wamanafo Mighty Royals in the FA Cup, is something they fully deserve. All I am asking from them is their unflinching support for the rest of the season as we embark on a record breaking campaign”, Ganiu concluded.
