Wa All Stars welcome Mighty Royals to the Malik Jabir Park as the only side left in the competition yet to score a goal from open play but ended the 90 minutes with six goals under their name.
A first minute blunder from Prince Addo in post almost let in Mathew Kelvin Andoh only to be rescued by the upright before Emmanuel Okrine opened the floodgate seven minutes into the game.
Series of comical defending from the visitors left referee Awal Mohammed with no option but to award a spot kick for Wa All Stars which was converted with a plumb to give the host a deserve lead.
Ismail Ganiu, who returned from Japan only on Friday marked his arrival to the first team with a pile driver from over 40 yards to give his side a 2-0 lead under 15 minutes into the game. The former Wa Anokye Stars defender struck a free kick with his ‘Tokyo Power’ good enough to breeze past the stationery Prince Addo in post.
The one way dominance continued in the opening half with two more goals from Maxwell Baako ‘Messi’ who might have scored the goal of the completion just on the stroke of half time. The ex Asmin forward tapped home his first of the day from a counter attack before finding the back of the net with a pearling finish which drew applause from the visitors bench.
A 4-0 lead into the dugout proved too much for the royal club to keep their pride at Wa park with only one shot in entire 45 minutes played.
Nana Tei Horsu, who was starting his first match in the season since arriving from Wa Rockets FC atoned for his wasteful nature with his side’s fifth of the day moments into the second department before substitute Iddrisu Muniru completed their demolition exercise with the sixth strike.
Wa All Stars thus booked their place in the last 8 stage of the covered MTN FA Cup and could not have fine tuned their preparation for the arrival of WAFA SC on midweek when the premier league returns.
