Satellites In Buoyant Mood Ahead of Ethiopia Clash

Black Satellites forward Ropapa Mensah has drawn inspiration from their heavy 4-1 thumping of Namibia ahead of the crunch trip to Adiss Ababa for the 2017 AYC qualifier with Ethiopia.

The Inter Allies attacking hotshot remains confident his side will sail through at the expense of the Ethiopians after their recent scoring spree in the buildup to the first leg.

Masud Dramani’s newly assembled national U20 side fine tuned their preparations for the long trip to East Africa with a 4-1 sizzling win over Namibia in an international friendly last Sunday.

Two goals on either half at the Lizzy Sports Complex handed the Ghanaians a moral boosting 4-1 triumph over their Namibian counterparts which has inspired the team ahead of the first leg tie.

Ropapa Mensah, who is expected to play a crucial role for the Ghanaians in the two legged qualifiers remains bullish his colleagues will draw motivation from their flamboyance exhibited at home to the Namibians in Adiss Ababa.

“It was a very great win and one that will really boost our confidence ahead of the first leg in Ethiopia,” he said.

“It was a collective effort from the entire team and I believe it is the right result for us ahead of the first leg”, Ropapa Mensah told sportscrusader.com.

The quick footed attacker played down the impact of his absence from the Namibia clash as they prepare to lock horns with their East African opponents.

“I picked some last minute injury but it is not any serious injury. I will soon be back and hopefully play my part in whatever role given me,” he added.

Ropapa Mensah enjoyed a stellar campaign in the 2014/15 FCPPL season and has exhibited signs of maturity in the opening 11 fixtures of the current campaign.
