Zamelek acquired the 25-year-old’s services in 2011 from Ghanaian champions Hearts of Oak, but released him in the summer of 2012 after he spent the entire season warming the bench with not a single league appearance.

Alhassan, who is currently playing for Sudanese side Al-Merrikh, filed a complaint with FIFA, which culminated in this verdict compensating the player.

According to the letter sent by the world football governing body to Zamalek, the player is entitled to the entire amount stipulated in his contract after the unilateral termination of his five-year deal.

Alhassan was called up for the Ghana national team for a friendly game against Argentina and made his debut in the game on 1 October 2009

He was part of Ghana U-20 squad at the 2011 African Youth Championship in South Africa who failed to make past the group stages.
