We Will Go To Ghana And Look For A Positive Result – Senegal Coach

Head Coach of the Senegalese U-20 side, Joseph Koto has said his team will look for a positive result in Ghana as they seek to qualify to the African Youth Championships (AYC) in Zambia next year.

They hold a 3-1 lead from the first leg final qualifying round at the expense of the Ghanaians after winning that encounter on home soil last Saturday.

The return fixture is expected to come off in Ghana on the weekend of July 22-24 at the newly built Cape Coast Stadium, and, Coach Koto insists his side will approach it with a strong mentality.

On the first leg win, he said; “It’s a good result but nothing is done in the direction of qualification. We will start the second leg as if it was 0-0 in the first leg.”

“It is a welcome serenity for what the players showed throughout the game. They did not panic despite the quality of the opponent known for its strength in youth football”, the former Senegal international said.

He added: “We will go to Ghana and look for a positive result. With the team we have, we fear no one.”

Ghana will need to win the return encounter by two clear goals to book a ticket to the AYC in Zambia next year where the best four teams will qualify to the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2017 in South Korea.
