Volta Referees Ready For Division Two League

Ahead of the start of the Volta Regional Division Two League, the Central zone of the Referees Association of Ghana (RAG) in the region, on Saturday organized a one day fitness test for its match officials at the Mawuli Park in Ho.


The physical training which forms part of their preparation for the upcoming league and it was under the strict supervision of their Regional Instructor and Premier League referee, Shine Ayitey.


After the program, the Premier league referee commended the organizers of the central zone for raising quite a number of potential referees, especially ladies.


Speaking to reporters after the event, the Secretary of the Central zone Referees Association, Mr. Richard Kumedzro expressed his outfit’s readiness for the Volta Regional Division Two League League which is scheduled to kick off on Saturday, May 28.


“We’ve had a successful fitness test this morning because majority of the referees were able to do what we expected of them”, he said.


“They have been able to finish the 12 laps, it’s only about 3 casualties that we had. Totally we’ve done well and the 3 casualties, we will give them opportunity to try it again and hope they’ll be able to do it with much training.


“We are very much ready, you saw it for yourself, the ladies exceeding the target we set for them and also the men too. That tells you that we are ever ready for the league in the central zone”, Mr. Kumedzro added.


The physical fitness test was followed by some teachings of the law of the game, which was done in the classroom as FIFA has reviewed the laws.
