Women"s Knock-out Competition Set To Start

The Women’s league Board of the Ghana Football Association is set to begin a maiden knockout competition for women’s clubs.


The competition will run along with the National Women’s League which is in its fourth season and will feature clubs from both the regional leagues and the National Women’s League.


8 Regional clubs will represent each zone with specific number of clubs qualifying from the regions and will be drawn together with the 8 National Women’s League clubs in the Zones.


Some of the regions have already finished their selection process in readiness for the competition.


Confirming the Women’s League Board’s plans to the media on Tuesday, Vice Chairperson,  Madam Rosalind Amoh said, “We are supposes to have a knockout for the regions and the National Women’s League clubs”.


“So we are selecting 8 from each zone, which will make 16 clubs. What will happen is that, they’ll be put in the same draw with the premier league clubs.


“After the draw, we will have the fixtures, round of 16, quarter finals, till we get the two finalist from Northern and Southern zones”, She added.
