Sammy Adjei Wants Hearts Comeback

Former Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Sammy ‘Bartels’ Adjei has reiterated his desire to stage a return to the club after denying reports of him retiring from active football.

The experienced goalkeeper has been inactive for over three years which has fueled those rumors of him retiring.

The 35-year old who last featured for the Rainbow Club three season’s ago, have been keeping himself in shape with some personal training.

“I have been keeping myself in shape, I have been training on my own, I am still active, I have spoken with some people at the club that I want to come back,” he told Accra based, Peace FM.

“So I am yet to hear from them, they have given me an assurance. Maybe in the second round I will be there,” he added.

The ex- Club Africain of Tunisia and Ashdod of Israel shot-stopper also represented Ghana at the 2006 African Nations Cup in Egypt as well as the FIFA World Cup in Germany that same year.
