Under-dog Tag Motivated Us - Felix Annan

Kumasi Asante Kotoko goal keeper, Felix Annan has mentioned to Sportscrusader.com that, the under-dog tag the team received, prior to the game against Hearts of Oak was a motivating factor for them.

Kotoko, had received under-dog tag prior to the game due to a very poor season with just 3 wins, 2 draws and 4 defeats from nine games before facing Hearts and this swing the pressure onto the Phobians.

An unpardonable mistake from Burkina Faso international and number one goal keeper, Soulama Abdulai gave Kotoko all the three points and Annan who recently returned from a knee injury and was an unused substitute in Kotoko’s 0-1 win over Hearts told Sportscrusader.com the ‘unfavourite tag’ was a morale booster for Kotoko.

He said, “the under dog tag was a very big motivation for us and that drove us to victory over Hearts. Everyone wrote us off, we were told even a point gained should be a joyous news for us, but we took that in the chin and that drove us to fight for the win.”

“losing against New Edubiase before facing Hearts got us to work harder as they were made favourite to win this due to their form and recent win over Ashgold, but we kept quite and grounded as we knew what we wanted to gain and with the support we received at the stadium it was enough morale booster for us,” he added.
