WAFA Youngster Goes Under Knife


West African Football Academy (WAFA) prodigy, Majeed Ashimeru has undergone a successful surgery in Belgium.


The 20-year-old suffered a knee injury prior to the start of the 2015-16 Ghana Premier League (GPL) season, and he’s since been on the sidelines.



Ashimeru who was phenomenal for the Sogakope-based club has been missed for the better part on the ongoing campaign, and if the doctors stipulated time for his full recovery is anything to go by, he will be out for the rest of the season.


According to the official Twitter account of WAFA, Ashimeru is expected to be in the treatment room for the next six weeks after a successful the surgery on Friday.

Midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has undergone surgery in Belgium to correct a knee injury.


The talented youngster went under the knife yesterday (Friday) at the AZ Monica Hospital in the city of Antwerp.


Dr.Geert Declercq, famous specialist and also doctor of the Belgium national team, performed the operation.


Ashimeru will spend close to six weeks on the sidelines to recovery fully fit.
