National Women’s League Week 3 Wrap-up (Northern Sector)

After winning their first two matches in the National Women’s League in impressive fashion, Ampem Darkoa Ladies were held to a 1-1 draw by lowly fancied Lepo Ladies at the Ohene Ameyaw Park on Sunday afternoon.

Fatima Adjei put the home side into the lead before Georgina Aoyem equalized for Lepo Ladies late into the game.

The dropped draw for Ampem Darkoa means Prisons Ladies are now top of the Northern Sector table after recording a 3-1 victory away at Real Upper Ladies.

Abigail Tutuwa, Sylvia Amankwah and Grace Asare were all on target for Prisons with Abubakaria Afisatu scoring a consolation for the Bolga Tanga side.

Elsewhere in Kumasi, Ashtown Ladies got the better of Fabulous Ladies in a keenly contested Ashanti Regional derby by a lone goal scored by Helena Obeng.

Northern Ladies recorded the biggest victory of the weekend, thumping bottom placed Subayo Golden Ladies 5-1 at the Tamale Stadium.

Mukarama Abdullai scored a treble with Rahama Alhassan and Rahama Jafaru also getting their names on the score sheet.
