Hearts Will Fix Problems- Sam Yeboah

Following their 1-0 home loss to rivals Asante Kotoko last Monday, Hearts of Oak striker Samuel Yeboah has expressed confidence that the playing body of the club will fix their problems and return to winning ways.

The Accra based club were unlucky not to have recorded at least a draw in the week 10 encounter, conceding an own goal through goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye following a harmless back pass from defender Richard Akrofi.

The Phobians had a number of good chances of their own but failed to take them, losing the 103rd meeting with their bitterest rivals by the solitary own-goal.

However, former Heart of Lions forward, Yeboah who returned from injury to start his first ever Hearts-Kotoko game, says the players will fix their inability to finish chances before this weekend’s game against Berekum Chelsea.

“We came in with the intention to win, and were dominating too but unfortunately they got a goal and everything changed,” Samuel Yeboah told the club’s official website.

“We did our best, but it is one of those things; we will try to fix the problems [we had in this game].

“I think we have another game in front of us so there is no time [to brood over the defeat]. We have to focus [our minds to it] and look forward. I know we will go and win against [Berekum] Chelsea [in our next game].

“It was not a bad day – we dominated the game, we were pushing and trying – but the goal separated the two of us. As you can see, it is not a goal that they worked for but it is one of those things; it is not like they were extraordinary. It is only unfortunate that we conceded in that manner”, he added.

Yeboah also admitted that the players have let the fans down by losing at home to Kotoko but says they will fix the problems to make the fans happy.

“We appreciate the way the fans came to support us,” he said, adding that, “We know we let them down; we are going to fix it and make sure we make them happy again.”
