The Ho Municipal Football Association (HMFA) have retained Daniel AGBOGAH as their chairman at a stakeholders meeting on Wednesday at the Ho Sports Stadium.
Agbogah who will be serving his second term in office contested the seat unopposed and was given the mandate by club managers and coaches in the municipality.
The meeting also saw the confirmation of James Bond Tumaku (Gafa) as the Vice Chairman of the HMFA.
The election had to come off at another date due to the fact that most of the Affiliated clubs were absent during the Annual Congress of the Association held on Friday 14th April, 2016.
5 people were voted for to represent the clubs on the executive committer, with 2 other members who will steer the affairs of Juvenile football in the municipality.
A referee, in the person of Rustum Gameli Senorgbe who took the clubs through the Amended FIFA Laws was appointed to be the rep for the Referees Association of Ghana (RAG).
There were 2 secretaries who were also appointed and will not have any voting right.
Following his election, Daniel Agbogah, who doubles as Vice Chairman of the Volta Regional Football Association, told reporters he’s delighted that the members has seen the potential in him to help develop the game in the Municipality.
“Actually, it’s okay I’m happy. To be honest, it’s not about the position as the chairman of the Municipal Football Association that matters. What matters is the potential people see in you, that you can help, deliver or take the district to another level. So I see it more as a responsibility given to me than the position itself”, he said.
17 clubs have so far affiliated to participate in the coming League season, an increase by 1 from the previous season.
The league as it has always been is divided into two zones, A and B with 12 new clubs who are very committed.
The unchallenged Chairman says the league is drawing a lot of attention.
“Division 3 is the embryonic stage of football so far. So I can see that every year with its interest. For example, last season had 16 clubs participating out of the 20 who affiliated and this year I’m so grateful that we have 17 clubs now.
It indicates that division 3 in the Ho municipality is actually moving on well and drawing a lot of attention. So I think that clubs are committed to playing division 3.”
