Kumasi Asante Kotoko centre-back, Evans Quao, has identified club mate and legend, Stephen ‘Tico Tico’ Oduro as his idol.
Oduro has spent his entire playing career with the Porcupine Warriors and has won premier league and FA Cup honours with the Kumasi-based side, and this longevity is what Quao is craving.
Veteran defender, Quao, joined Kotoko from Medeama SC in a two-year-deal during the 2015/16 transfer window and hopes to be given a new deal as the season comes to a close, with four games left to play.
“A senior and well-experienced player as Stephen Oduro is rare to have around in a team, and I am honoured to play with him.
“I wish to stay at Kotoko for a longer period just like he has. With the season still ongoing, I hope to be served a new deal as I have no idea leaving the club.”
Quao will hope to keep his place when Kotoko host Berekum Chelsea after holding relegation-threatened Sekondi Hasaacas to a one-all drawn match.
