Deputy captain of the senior national team Andre Dede Ayew has reiterated their readiness for their 2017 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Mauritius on Sunday, 5 June 2016 at the Stade George V in Port Louis.
Ghana is a point away from booking their place at the finals in Gabon next year, but the Les Dodos of Mauritius are looking forward to hamper the progress of the Black Stars on Sunday.
In their last training section at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday, Ayew said, “we are hopeful of getting a great result in Mauritius, we have qualified to the AFCON before and hopefully we will do it”.
“We are to play against players (Mauritius) who will not just give off 100 percent but 200 percent, so if we do not give off our best we are going to find it very difficult, like what happened against Comoros in our last qualifier”.
Ayew was also mindful of the fact that they need only a point to qualifier for the Gabon tournament, but, emphasized the need to go for all three points, because Ghanaian always desire for a win.
The Black Stars left the shores of Ghana early Friday morning for Sunday’s game.
