2017 AYC : David Atanga Calls For Patience Ahead Of Ethiopia Clash

Former Ghana Youth international David Adoona Atanga has called on the current crop of the Black Satellites to exercise patience ahead of the return leg of the African Youth Championship qualifiers at home to Ethiopia.


The Austria based trickery forward urged the playing staff to erase any mental burden from their mindset and build the can do attitude ahead of Sunday’s crunch meeting in Cape Coast.


The former U20 star remains confident of the Satellite’s chances but called on the playing body to rule out complacency going into the crucial tie.


The gallant Black satellites slumped to a 2-1 defeat in the first leg and will need to overturn the deficit of they are to progress to the next stage of the qualifiers.


David Atanga, who starred for the U20 side in New Zealand last year urged the playing body to put aside the first leg score line and go into the fixture like a fresh tie with a home advantage in their side.


Speaking to sports crusader ahead of the Sunday’s blockbuster in the newly inaugurated Cape Coast stadium, the Salzburg forward remains bullish about the satellites chances.


‘ I have no doubt in the qualification of the Black satellites though they are trailing 2-1 to their Ethiopian opponents.


What they need to do is to avoid complacency and believe they can do it as a team.


If they take the pressure off their minds it will help them play their best football without any restrictions. I am sure we will sail through after the 90 minutes”, Atanga told sports crusader.


The satellites host their East African opponents on Sunday June 12 at the newly built cape coast stadium.


Masud Dramani’s men could book a destiny defining match with Senegal if they can overturn their 2-1 defeat in the first leg.
