Mitre Ball Too Heavy - Bashir

Dreams FC skipper, Abdul Bashiru has admonished for the Mitre ball currently used in the country for domestic football to be changed.

According to Bashir, the mitre ball is too ‘heavy’, and he had appeal to officials of the Premier League Board (PLB) to change the balls before the second round kick starts on June 25.

Prior to the start of the 2015-16 Ghana Premier League (GPL), beleaguered Kotoko coach David Duncan called on officials to change the ball.

His appeal was echoed by Fatau Dauda after Soulama Abdulaye’s howler in the super clash between Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko last month.

“My main issue right now is the leather that we are playing or using in this season’s league – the Mitre ball is a problem for us.

“I am pleading if authorities can do something about it because is not only me who is complaining, it is too heavy ,” he told Starr FM.

“We really need to change the Mitre balls,” he added.
