Everton Offer Chelsea Target New Deal

Everton will offer Romelu Lukaku a huge new contract in a bid to keep him at Goodison Park.

But new owner Farhad Moshiri will put the entirety of the Belgian’s fee into Ronald Koeman’s already substantial transfer warchest if he fails to keep the striker.

Lukaku has indicated his intention to leave Merseyside this summer; Chelsea and Juventus are both keen on the 23-year-old.

Koeman, however, would prefer to keep Lukaku and the club are ready to offer the centre forward a sharp increase – understood to be in-excess of £100,000-per-week – in an attempt to retain his services.

There remains significant doubt over whether the offer would be enough to appease Lukaku, who wants to join an elite club this summer.

And if the striker refuses the contract, Moshiri will demand £65million for the ex-Anderlecht man.

Indeed, the Blues owner will designate all proceeds of Lukaku’s potential sale towards Koeman’s already huge transfer budget.

Koeman will have in-excess of £90million to blow on new players this summer after agreeing to replace axed Roberto Martinez.

Lukaku is currently in France for Belgium’s Euro 2016 campaign but the striker will look to have his future resolved as soon as the tournament is over.
