Black Starlets Thrash Burkina Faso in African U-17 Qualifiers

The Black Starlets of Ghana thrashed their counterpart from Burkina Faso 5-1 in the first leg of the African U-17 final round qualifier at the Cape Coast Stadium.


The visitors took a surprise lead in the early stages of the game but Ghana’s Emmanuel Opoku equalizer came as a relieve to the home side who mounted consistent pressure after conceding the first goal.


Eric Ayiah who was had a fantastic outing scored a brace, whilst his fellow compatriot Issac Antah and Nathaniel Opoku added a goal each, to boost their confidence ahead of the second leg in a fortnight.


This result puts Ghana in poll position for qualification to the African U-17 Championship to be held in Madagascar next year.
