Sportscrusader.com can confirm exclusively that the National Women’s League (NWL) Final has been scheduled for September 4 as the curtain-raiser for the 2016 MTN FA Cup at the Cape Coast Sports stadium.
This year’s MTN FA cup final, between Bechem United and GN Bank Division One League side, Okwahu United will be held at the newly-built stadium and, the Women’s football administrators have deemed it fit to thrive on the popularity and expected fan patronage of the game to play the NWL final as a precursor.
According to the source, a notable figure at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in charge of Women’s football said, “this year has been a good one for women football and as such, we want to cap it off with a bang and hence the decision to contact the committee (FA Cup).
“We are grateful they accepted and happy to be on board. We hope to exhibit the best game between the finalists on that fateful day.”
With two matches to end the season, it is still unclear who the two teams will be, as, only three points separate the top 4 teams in the Northern zone whilst Hasaacas Ladies lead Police Ladies by three points.
