Rio 2016 : Ghana Names Flings Owusu-Agyapong as Flag Bearer

Ghanaian Sprinter Flings Owusu-Agyapong will be Ghana’s flag bearer at the opening ceremony of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio whilst John Ampomah has been named captain of Team Ghana.


 


The 27 -year old  runner will lead Ghana’s contingent on Friday at the 78,000 Maracana Stadium.


 


The sprinter is also part of the fastest female 100m quartet in Africa together with Gemma Acheampong,Janet Amponsah and Beatrice Gyaman having recorded the fastest time ever, and are in poll position of winning Ghana it first medal in Track and field in Rio.


 


Team Ghana will be represented by 11 track and field athletes, two swimmers, one weightlifter, one judoka and a boxer.
