Abbey Provides Injury Boost For Hearts

Accra Hearts of Oak player, Thomas Abbey has provided an injury boost to the Phobians by returning to training after missing the club’s last Ghana Premier League (GPL) game against WAFA at Sogakope last Saturday with a minor knee problem.

The versatile Abbey, suffered the knee injury in their previous encounter with AshantiGold SC at the Accra Sports Stadium and, was given time out to skip training by the clubs medical team.

However, the player who can play in defence and midfield, returned to training with the rest of his colleagues on Monday after the team’s defeat to WAFA in the Match-Day 23 GPL encounter.

He will hope to train well this week hoping to be included in the squad for this Sunday’s GPL home game with Techiman City at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The player sat out most of the first round of this season’s competition after picking up a rib injury in the Match-Day Three game with Ebusua Dwarfs in Cape Coast.

He returned to the first team frame at the start of the second round of the season and has been a constant feature in Coach Sergio Traguil’s squad until this latest setback.

His return to training should be good news to the team as they battle to regain top spot of the league with seven games to end the season.

Coach Traguil could include him in the setup for Sunday’s game against Techiman City as the Phobians look to get back to winning ways after their first away loss of the season against WAFA.
