MLS Cup: Accam Sees Red In Chicago Fire Loss

Chicago Fire’s Ghanaian forward, David Accam, will miss out on the final showdown of the 2016 MLS Cup after a dramatic 3-1 defeat at New England Revolution.

The 24-year-old pulled parity for his side in the opening half of the game before getting sent off in the cup defeat.

Accam leveled the scores for Chicago Fire after Kai Kamara had given Union the lead with five minutes to recess.

Vaughan Watson however restored the lead for Union with his first of the night on the stroke of half time to put his side back in the driving seat.

Compatriot, Gershon Koffie, paved way for Landon Woodberry in the 75th minute before Accam’s night turned sour.

The pocket-sized attacker lost his temper at the dearth and was rightfully sent off in the 90th minute to leave his colleagues numerically disadvantaged.

Ghanaian midfielder,  Emmanuel Boateng, was missing in the Revolution setup but could return for the weekend’s match.
