Ghana Moves Up In Latest FIFA Rankings

The August edition of the FIFA Ranking of national teams has seen Ghana move to the 35th-placed team in the world.

The four-time Africa Cup of Nations champions were previously ranked 35th in the world and third in Africa, behind reigning continental champions, Ivory Coast.

Ghana has moved above Ivory Coast to occupy the second position in Africa whilst North African giant, Algeria, still remains the top ranked African country in the World.

This will be welcome news for the Black Stars and head Coach Avram Grant ahead of their final Cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda, as well as, their upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Senegal and Egypt complete the top five ranked teams on the continent. African giant, Nigeria have moved up three places to 16th position.
