GAA Suspends Martha Bissah

The Ghana Athletics Association (GAA) has indefinitely suspended Youth Olympic Gold Medalist Martha Bissah for making false allegations against the Association.

The suspension comes as a result of Martha’s consistent accusations in the media of the GAA demanding GHC 7,000 from her to be offered the scholarship which she gained after winning the country’s first ever Olympic  Gold medal at the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games.

But speaking in an interview on an Accra based radio station, Starr FM, Mr. Marc Dzradosie, an executive member of the GAA debunked Martha’s allegations.

“We have indefinitely suspended her for going on several platforms claiming the GAA has asked her money before she is offered the scholarship.

“We have invited her on two occasions to come and substantiate the allegation and plan her future as well but has refused. GAA has sent 24 athletes outside and none of them paid a pesewa”, Mr. Dzradosie said.

However, Marthe Bissah’s camp are yet to respond to the suspension of their athlete.
