Coach of Medeama SC, Prince Owusu, has declared their encounter with Congelese giant, TP Mazembe, a ‘must-win’, if they are to progress to the next stage of the competition.
TP Mazembe have already qualified to the semi-finals, and will be looking forward to repeat the previous results when they won the corresponding fixture by 3-1 in Lubumbashi.
Medeama are second in Group A, level on points with MO Béjaïa, who travel to Tanzania to face Young Africans in the penultimate match of the group stages.
After their final training session ahead of the crucial encounter on Sunday, Coach Owusu said: “the match is not going to be an easy one. With lots of foreign players in their team, this should tell you the level of quality they hold.
“Their ultimate will be to come and score here, but my boys are poised for the encounter and we shall deliver a win for all Ghanaians.”
Medeama SC will be hoping to grab all three points against the defending CAF Champions league winners at the Essipong Sports Stadium on Sunday, August 14.
