GPL: Samudeen Returns For WAFA Clash

Highly rated midfielder, Samudeen Ibrahim is likely to feature for Hearts of Oak in their Ghana Premier League Match Week 23 clash with WAFA after cutting short the bereavement leave handed to him by the club to return to training.

The youngster lost his mother last weekend, but after the Islamic funeral rites came to an end on Monday, he decided to re-join the first team at training much to the surprise of the technical team.

Samudeen was given an unspecified leave of absence by head coach Sérgio Traguil but the young star turned up at training on Wednesday, just five days after the family bereavement.

He trained with the team at the Legon Park on Wednesday and at the Tema Sports Stadium on Thursday morning.

He is likely to train with the team on Friday as they wrap up preparation for Saturday’s league clash with WAFA.

It is however, still unclear whether he will be available for selection on Saturday but coach Sergio insists Samudeen loves to play.

“I am not surprised Samudeen came back so early,” Sergio said.

“He loves to play and he loves to play for me. I do not know yet whether he is in the right frame of mind to play on Saturday.”
